Rock Valley College was developed after a two-year study established the need for a community college in Rockford, on October 10th, 1964.
Today, October 10th, 2016, we celebrate the history of Rock Valley College.
From the first President Dr. Clifford G. Erickson, to RVC’s current President Dr. Douglas J. Jensen, classes have been open since September 29th, 1965.
The college district contains many local counties such as Boone, Winnebago, Stephenson, Ogle, McHenry, and DeKalb. RVC now offers degrees, certificates, and a wide variety of programs to fit the needs of all students.
Rock Valley College has been transforming lives for over 50 years now, and will continue to provide and present learning opportunities socially, economically, and culturally within the community.
Happy Birthday, Rock Valley College!
