Anthony Strickland, is a Shooting Guard and Point Guard for the Rockford Warriors in the NPBA. The Auburn High School Alumni is now declaring for the 2021 NBA Draft.
When interviewed, Anthony talked about the process of declaring for this year’s NBA draft. He also talked a little bit of his background, how he is preparing for the draft, how he plans to help the Rockford community, and even his clothing brand.
When talking about declaring for the NBA draft, Anthony said he reached out to the NBA via email to inquire about the 2021 NBA Draft. A woman by the name of Erika Ruiz got back to him about it and let him know he was eligible to enter the draft, and he dove right in. He got in contact with an agent, Earl Adanvor from Baseline Sports. The agent has been helping Anthony set up workouts with teams like the Indiana Pacers, Chicago Bulls, and New York Knicks.
Strickland spoke on what he is doing to improve on his game, and who he is working with to improve on things:
“Well I have experience playing internationally in Mexico, Spain, and Italy. I’ve also played in some lower leagues in the United States,” said Anthony. “I’m working with my dad to improve my craft.”
He also said that he is still playing with the Rockford Warriors, and wants to get bigger for the league as well as improve from the 3 point range and defense. Anthony also explained what skills he is good at; a good passer, good rebounder, great basketball IQ, and that he can hit shots with his left and right hand.
When Anthony spoke about playing in the NBA, one of his goals is to make enough money to help the Rockford community as well as talking about his clothing brand, Westend Apparel LLC.
“You know, I want to help stop the level of poverty that Rockford has and make that place better as well as spread the message to stop the crime rate,” said Strickland.
One of the things Anthony wants to do is help young kids get better at the game of basketball and in life with Stricklab. Also, he hopes to one day eventually open up a store to sell clothes as well as online for his clothing brand, Westend Apparel LLC.
One thing for sure is that Anthony has a bright future for himself and is a very humble man. If he does make it to the NBA, he could very well accomplish great things.
