The first round of the playoffs started on May 22. There where some series that were very close and there were some that were anything but.

The Utah Jazz faced the Memphis Grizzlies and Memphis got the first win. While Donovan Mitchell was out for game one, he was back for game 2 and the Jazz won the series 4-1.

On the Western side the Denver Nuggets vs the Portland Trail Blazers was a good series. Portland’s Damian Lillard great scoring games but didn’t affect Denver enough as they won the series with the regular season MVP Nikola Jokic 4-2.

The Phoenix Suns vs the Los Angeles Lakers was a highly watched series. Most had the Lakers winning the series coming into it because they had LeBron James and Anthony Davis. That made the series very close at the beginning, but soon after Anthony Davis went down with a groin injury in the middle of the series. Chris Paul and Devin Booker ended up helping the Suns when is the series in six games(4-2)

More of the series that were not close. Philadelphia was the number one seed in the Eastern Conference vs the 8th seed Washington Wizards. Philadelphia won the series 4-1. Then the Atlanta Hawks defeated the New York Knicks 4-1. Also the Milwaukee Bucks swept the Miami Heat 4-0. The Brooklyn Nets versus the Boston Celtics was not close, with Brooklyn winning the series in 5 games 4-1.

The closest series was the Los Angeles Clippers versus the Dallas Mavericks. The series was very close and the road team won all the games until game 7 when the Los Angeles Clippers Kawhi Leonard and Paul George defeated the Dallas Mavericks in seven games 4-3.

The second round had more series closer than not closer, but the Phoenix Suns swept the Denver Nuggets. Chris Paul and Devin Booker topped the MVP Nikola Jokić in four games 4-0.

The Clippers vs Utah series was a good one and stayed close to the end of the series. The Clippers lost Kawhi Leonard with a knee injury, but that didn’t stop the Clippers from winning the series 4-2.

We also had the Milwaukee Bucks versus the Brooklyn Nets in the Eastern Conference side. At the beginning of the series The Brooklyn Nets won the first two games at home easily. Then early in the series Kyrie Irving, a point guard for the Brooklyn Nets, got injured. Milwaukee went back and forth and won a good game 7 in overtime to win the series 4-3.

Then the Philadelphia 76ers vs the Atlanta Hawks had a 7 game back and forth series too. The Atlanta Hawks and Trae Young defeated the Philadelphia 76ers and their stars Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons in game 7 with the score of 103-96.

Then was the Eastern and Western Conference Finals the last 4 teams. Clippers, Suns in the Western side. And the Milwaukee Bucks and Atlanta Hawks.

For the Western Conference Finals the amazing Phoenix Suns where able to win the first two games without Chris Paul. Then they got their second win by a game winner dunk by Deandre Ayton. In game 3 Chris Paul came back, but the Suns struggled to get the win in L.A. with Paul George had 27 points to give the Clippers the win. Then game for the Suns had 84-80 win to go up to 3-1 in the series. The Clippers went to Phoenix down 3-1 and had an amazing win in Phoenix 116-102 for the Clippers to go 3-2 in the series. The the series went back to L.A. and the Phoenix Suns had an amazing 130-103 win. Chris Paul had 41 points and 8 assists and Devin Booker had 22 points 4 assists and 7 rebounds to help Suns win the series 4-2.

On the Eastern Conference side it was the Milwaukee Bucks and the Atlanta Hawks.

Game one went to Atlanta 116-113. Atlanta’s Trae Young had 48 points to help Atlanta get the win.

In game 2 Giannis Antetokoumpo had 25 to help Milwaukee Bucks get the 125-91 win. In game 3 the Bucks got the 113-102 win to go up 2-1 in the series. In game 4 Atlanta got the 110-88 win, and Giannis Antetokounmpo got hurt in the 3rd quarter. Then in game 5 the Bucks got the win with the help of Khris Middleton who had 26 points and Brook Lopez who had 33 points to help the Bucks go to 3-2. Then in game 6 the Milwaukee Bucks got the win with the help of Khris Middleton. He had 26 points to help the Bucks win the series 4-2 to play the Phoenix Suns in the Finals.

The NBA Finals now had the Phoenix Suns win the first two games 118-105 and 118-108 in Phoenix. The Bucks won the next 2 games in Milwaukee 120-100 and 109-103. Then the Bucks won game 5 in Phoenix 123-119. The Milwaukee Bucks won the Finals in game 6 with the help of Giannis Antetokounmpo and his 50 points, and also 13 rebounds to win the NBA Finals 105-98.

Lastly, Giannis Antetokounmpo won the Bill Russell finals MVP award.
